Remote Workers Learn the Basics

This university had just transformed a number of staff to remote working arrangements (well before the Covid 19 pandemic) and closed a number of national offices. The L&D team needed to be able to offer learning to the whole organisation to ensure that individuals were still learning and growing alongside their transformation plans.

The learning was to be positioned as part of their normal day to day work life without having to take too much time out. The staff were organised by location and ‘short burst’ face to face sessions were made available at their nearest office so they could come together to learn whilst minimising travel time and cost.  

The short sessions covered communication behaviours and personal effectiveness with a number of titles available.  

The feedback told us that the learners loved the practical nature of the tips and techniques that they could take away and use immediately.

The sessions proved to be very popular with word of mouth ensuring full attendance. Feedback was so positive that now virtual versions of these short burst learning sessions are always  offered to coincide with remote working project.
